Yngvar Ugland

Yngvar is a renowned technology leader and one of Norway’s biggest tech influencers. He is currently an Innovation & Science Fellow at DNB’s Emerging Business unit. He is currently working on an Industry PhD in AI and trust at NTNU. Prior to this he established and lead DNB NewTechLab since 2017. Yngvar and his team delved into the uncharted territories of new technology from their bases in Bjørvika, San Francisco and Palo Alto. Between 2020 and 2024 Yngvar was Norway’s first ever Consumer Technologist / Forbrukerteknolog, a sound of reason for consumers in an ever changing tech world. He is often referred to as the Colonel of Moonshots In 2025, Yngvar launched the bestselling book, Moonshots-metoden. The book is used as curriculum at five Norwegian universities. In addition, Yngvar is also a co-author of several other books and has served as an Industry Professor II at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) in Bergen. He has previously lectured on Moonshot innovation at Singularity University and Rehumanize Institute. With a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from NTNU, Yngvar’s diverse career has taken him from Big Tech to startups, scaleups, banking, and academia. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in building products, technologies, cultures and companies. A familiar face in the media, Yngvar frequently appears on TV, podcasts, newspapers, op-eds, debates, and stages both nationally and internationally. In 2023, he was honored with a nomination for the Nordic AI Influencer Award of the Year. In 2024 he was named the Nordic AI Professional of the Year
